Clara Romani joins as Summer Cesta RA

Clara Romani, class of 2020, worked as CESTA Summer Research Assistant on the Grand Tour Explorer. She focused on cleaning the data to better represent every person mentioned in the entries of several travelers to Naples. In her words, “I went through the individual entries, line-by-line, in an attempt to remedy some of the errors of the computer program, namely in the areas of mentioned names and adding missing paragraph breaks. While this was at times a slightly tedious process, it also allowed me to become intimately acquainted with these travelers’ stories and the relations between them (or at least those with last names from Z to T!) in a way that only close examination can."
